Default b20/vtec or ls/vtec?

ive been wanting to build a motor for awhile now and lately ive had the urge even more. i wanna do a b series instead of a kseries.. or a jseries for that matter.

What are the advantages/disadvantages for both? i read somewhere that the b20/vtec would produce more torque than a ls/vtec. but are there more downsides to the b20/vtec?

any insight would be helpful.

Obvously a B20 vtec would make more torque than an ls vtec because it has more displacement. The downside of the b20 vtec is the weak cylinder walls but you won't have to worry about that unless your going boost. I say go b20 vtec, ls vtec is more budget therefore weaker.

get ls and sleeve it if you're going to sleeve a block. get the one with most miles or cheapest. because once you re-sleeve it. it will be brand new again anyways. lol

And yet you posted the question in the all-motor forum.
Stock sleeves-go ls for boost. Sleeved block-either/or will be fine.
