i was wondering if anyone has done this because of the simple addition of the handle in the back instead of having to go to the front to pop the hatch if they are the exact same size and it will fit does any one have any suggestions for this part swap before.

 

96-98 had no latch on the hatch 99-00 did....

trim models had nothing to do with it.


as far as installation i dont know

 

ok so does any one out there know if a 99-00 hatch would fit on a 96-98

 

it does fit, im just not sure what other components if any you need to go with it to get the latch to work. if i were a gambling man id say there isnt anything extra you would need, the latch should be completely integrated inside the hatch.

 

wouldnt it just be the hatch? everything else should be there.

 

Just a small correction. '96 - '97 models had the internal latch. '98 - '00 are external. '98 was the oddball year and I have no idea why honda did this with the facelift coming the next year. And yes trim levels had nothing to do with it.

 

pulled out my old door and put in the new one only thing that needs to be done is run the power line for the power unlock addition the plate lights are different from the 96-97 thanks for the input guys.
