old skool ZC builds? DUAL CARBS
mainly referring to the ZC platform but the idea is for all motors.
the dual carb side draft setup was used in racing before the ITBs became the next big thing for N/A builds am i right? i want to do it to my ZC and i have discovered that Mugen made a kit to do so shortly after the DOHC Sports racing series came out. of course the kit is only available in Japan and is discontinued as well as every other ZC and 1st gen Integra related support. so really i'd like to know if there is anyone on Honda-Tech who is running dual 2 barrel side drafts, quad single barrel side drafts, or individual throttle bodies on a ZC as opposed to the oem type PGM-FI setup?
I would like to gather info on what bolts on and what doesnt, does the EDM D14 dual carb setup just bolt onto any other D series (minus the D16A1 / ZC unless you have an adapter plate like i do). what are the pros and cons? also heard something about using 4 carbs from a certain model of Honda motorcycle. like i said i would just like to gather some information to get an idea of what i can and cannot do. or more like whats easier to accomplish than other ideas lol. any advice or info on this subject would be greatly appreciated.

search my SN in the archieves. i ran some mikuni phh44's on a d16a6 head. i think they became semi popular back in the day because there wasnt any good tuning options for the early fuel injected stuff. it was easier to tune the carbs on a radical engine combo than it was to try to get the stock injection stuff to work. plus the stock injection manifolds kind of sucked airflow wise.
you can buy sidedrafts new, all you really need to track down is a manifold. get yourself a syncrometer and a wideband and start jetting.

thanks for the help. i checked out Weber's site, they have the 45s brand new for $500 each. which im not sure what to think of. i guess it isn't too bad when you really think about the outcome. but like you said, i still have to come up with a manifold to bolt them to.
Its really sad that even to this day, 2 decades later, there's still hardly any options for the ZC. I would really like to find a set of streetable performance camshafts but thats nearly impossible.

Some throttle body manufacturers intentionally build their parts to match the Weber bolt/port pattern, as they were first introduced as updates for those systems. That means their manifolds would work with Webbers or Del'orttos. You might call Hayward; he would know.
