has anyone removed their rear wiper?
mine sags for some reaon and wont seem to stay up so i'm thinking about removing it to save weight...but i dont use mine much anyways and thought it might look a little cleaner without it. i've heard of people doing this before somewhere. isnt there some kind of plug to cover the hole? help is appreciated
did it to my rex but hb would be just as easy. take a small piece of steel, or aluminum slightly bigger than the hole, totally cover one side with jb weld, pour it on thick, slap some duck tape on the other side to hold it onto the hole, bam. Let it dry, instant filler, then just sand it down.
For the person who MAY want to reinstall the unit-there is indeed a rubber plug available-it is the size of a large Zeibart plug (3/4") or UHF radio antenna. Doesn't look great-but definitely a cheap solution.

hey i have a 93 hatch and i put the rear wiper on it. but if you want to take it out you can use the civic cx 3dr rear cover that comes from factory to close the hole where the whiper was... good luck...

I just put a new wiper arm on mine 4 days ago, I got sick of having a little stub tail. I never thought of taking it out and closing it up like you guys. The idea of having a cap to fill in the whole sounded ugly to me.
I have one off of my 88 CRX Si...everything you need(the windshield wiper blade probably ought to be replaced, but it works pretty decently). I actually took a video of it last week before I took it off and plan on putting it on eBay next week...let me know if anybody is interested.
Mmmm the shaved look is as nice as i thought it would look. looks like welded is the way to go. thanks for the help everyone
Weld that Sh*t off... NOW!!
I removed it from my hatch, but I went the cheap way and put a backing on the hole and used some filler... and now it's cracked. Still looks a lot better than with the arm on, though.
