weird power loss problem
so the problem is when i turn on the car and dont warm it up for a few minutes before taking off, the car looses power at around 3k rpm and it has a really bad idle. but as soon as the car is warmed up, problem solved and the car runs perfectly fine. this happens every single time i take off without warming up, since i dont always have the time to do it. it kind of feels like its clogged or something, but only for a minute til its warm. the question is, is something wrong, can i fix this problem, or does my car really just need to be warmed up every time?
ok thanks a lot! i was getting worried something was going bad.
my car used to not do this though. this just started recently, so should i look into it?

it is really rough. i feel like the car is gonna die on me but it doesnt. in a minute its gone though, and the car idles fine and runs fine, like if nothing happenned ha that power loss is whats really bothering me, its become really dangerous and annoying.

yes indeed. if i have the time to warm it up for like 5 minutes, nothing will happen. the power loss and rough idle only happen when the car isnt warmed up.
yes, actually the check engine light has been on since i bought the car months ago. but this never happenned before. this started a few days ago. the car had been doing perfectly fine even with the check engine light
well i am not smart with hondas, or any cars haha. im just learning. but it sounds like some sort of bad sensor. My o2 sensor is bad. and i have a power loss, and my car idles strange. But yours doesnt sound as bad. I would just look into getting that check engine light to go away.
So I already answered someone else bout the same prob so if u can just check this thread k good luck pretty lady hope I help.....

my car had the exact same problem, had to warm it up to drive it otherwise it would sort of bog out when i pushed the gas pedal. this lasted for a few months until it wouldn't even start. turned out to be a bad ignition fuse. as for my rough idle, it was my throttle positioning sensor messing up. hope this helps

so it wasnt my o2 sensor. moving on to check the ignition fuse. and how can i fix my TPS? or do i need to get a new one?
any other possiblities? maybe bad spark plugs? i dont know.

replacing it is simple(don't listen to the people who tell you it can't be done, and that you need to replace your whole TB)calibrating it can be tricky but if you can use a multimeter its easy. PM me if you want details on removal/installation and calibration.
so now i have this problem whether the car is warmed up or not. it just looses power at random moments and it really sucks! does this sound like its the TPS or something else? if it is the TPS, i'd like the details on how to adjust it, or replace it completely.
wait a sec... wouldn't the tps come up as an engine code? and I am having the same problem too... I had to find a factory service manual and it gave me this order to check items. o2 sensor, fuel pressure regulator, short or open between engine and ecu, and finally ecu. Note: if you are getting code 1 then this is the way to go.
