Best OEM clutch combo on LSVTEC???
Hi there, looking for some info on what the best choice would be with the following setup:
B18 block - Wiseco 81.5mm 11.8-12.2:1 pistons, IS rods, ACL bearings, ARP rod bolts, B16A water pump, B16A oil pump
B16A head - stock (for now, possible stage1/2 cams later) & ARP head studs
B16A tranny - stock
We are now looking at running a new clutch setup as it is currently running the stock B16A clutch kit.
The following is the options in mind at the moment:
* B20 pressure plate, B16 clutch plate & B16 realease bearing
* ITR clutch kit
* B18 clutch kit
If anybody has some advice or constructive crit, I would appreciate it.
Thanks

I'd go for the itr combo if u wanna stay OEM, but I run an ACT streetlite clutch with an 11lb ACT flywheel on my LSVTEC and I like it a lot. also, had the itr clutch and flywheel before on it and for the cost the ACT combo is as good, if not better than it.
Aftermarket bits in South Africa are very costly, but I will look into it.
As far as I see it now, I should look at either ITR or Stage1 aftermarket considering that it's a daily drive that needs to handle the punishment. Can anybody assist me with part number for the ITR clutch kit(B18spec)?
Thanks

afaik the OEM itr clutch would depend on the itr tranny..
so find out which tranny you have, then find out which oem clutch was on that tranny...
then find the sweetest one from any itr (prolly the GSR or the JDM TYPE R) and see if it bolts up...
if it all bolts up and is interchangeable, then you're golden.
I want to do a ls-vtec too, so i want to know when you figure it out...

FYI all Hydro transmission clutch parts are interchangeable.
personally, I'd get the Exedy OEM replacement and a lightweight flywheel.
Exedy OEM - Replacement Clutch Kit - Part #:KHC12
Exedy Racing - Lightweight Flywheel - Part #:HF01
these parts together from a Honda-tech vendor sell for $347.47 USD with free shipping in the U.S.

I know that you said the parts are interchangeable, but I still want to confirm that the above kit will work on a LS block(B18B) matched to a B16A gearbox(S4C).
I found the following Exedy stage1 kit which they specify can be used on the floowing vehicles:
Exedy Part#
08800B
1994-01 Acura Integra (B18 DOHC)
08800B
1999-00 Honda Civic Si VTEC (B16 DOHC)
08800B
1994-97 Honda Del Sol Si VTEC (B16 DOHC)
This kit as far as I can tell, should be the one that I'm looking for as it it gives a torque increase of 32%.
Can anyone with an LSVTEC confirm this for me?
*Disc diameter is 220mm
*Spline teeth/Major Dia is 24T/26mm
