okay 96-00 ex coupes are exactly the same some parts can be used from like the lx or dx not from the cx tho and the si has a different front end so im not sure about the lights. al 96, 97, 98, 99, 00 exs are the same and everything is interchangeable.

I reccomend using either royal purple performance oil or mobile 1. mobile 1 is great and lasts long dont get it changed at a place do it yourself and use the OEM oil filter from Honda.

use ground control coilover sleeves and KYB shocks. the ground control coilover sleeves are adjustable and handle way better then lowering springs.

and we need a better disctiption on the grr grr thing

whoa, wait... you have a "race" button you press?

with the exception of that last one, all your questions have been answered already, check out the "search" function and the FAQ's pages.

you may never get a straight, simple answer about the oil and the suspension. these are areas of personal preference as i see it. you can maybe ask or research what other people run and pick the most popular if you like to. i've run Penzoil, Castrol, and Quacker State full synthetic and there was no notable difference in any respect. i still have original factory suspension, it came free with the car and deters theivery.

ya search this site and you will find answers to pretty much any question you have.

as for 96-00 civic parts? everything fits except for the front end from the 99-00 civics (hood, fenders, grill, bumper, head lights). if you want 1 part from the front end of those civics, you have to swap it all (not too too difficult).

as for oil, stick to the recommended viscosity as stated in your civic manual (5w30 and 10w30). generally speaking, normal non-synthetic oil is fine from any company. however i like to stick to familiar brands. some people prefer synthetic too..

and ya...no idea what u mean grr grr. do u have a dog tied in the trunk as an anti-theft device??
