Post 92 accord lx wrecked need opinions on wat to do.

ok so i wrecked my accord lx powersliding. i ran over a curve at about 60 and ****ed up the control arm. i took it all apart and noticed the frame piece where the control arm goes to is bent so it doesnt allow me to put the new control arm in because the control arm goes in between the frame piece and since its bent and at a slight angle the bolt to hold the control arm doesnt go through it. my accord has an jdm h22a in it so my question is what should i do???? becuase i asked a friend and he said that i have to take off that whole big *** bar that goes accross the car behind the motor to hold both control arms but that it has to b welded off and that sounds like alot of cash. any opinions on what to do would b nice. thnx

I did this same thing in my 98 accord lol. You bent your subframe and you will need to replace it. Hopefully you didn't do any damage to your actual frame. It should come in two pieces, unless your year doesn't, the rear one which the control arms connect to also houses the steering rack within it, which you will need to remove and transfer to your new one. It was only held together by two long *** bolts and you have to disconnect the power steering lines and steering column. Your moldel may vary from my description but it's the same principle. It isn't very hard and shouldn't cost you more than 100 used, or get it dirt cheap from a salvage yard. Also check your upper control arm and your hub knuckle assembly for damage if you haven't already. Hope this helps and good luck!

It's really a matter of several things
How much do you like this particular car?
How much can you afford?
Can you do the work yourself?
Are you ever going to poweslide ever again?

If you really like this year's example, buy a substitute in better condition and swap everything over at your leisure.
If you can do the work yourself and don't mind a few sets of tires b4 you get things sorted, go that route

I have seen a "powerslide" thread everyday for the past week. Did I miss the new Fast and Furious movie or what ? And why does every one hit something while powersliding ? Do you look at the curb and tell your friend that you got good aim and you will hit it ?

Fix damages yourself to save money in repair costs.

Assuming he can fix things better than he can drive .......

Hello... I'm going through similar with my 98 Accord. My control arm broke completely out the frame. I was advised to find a good welder to repair and drill new holes for my control arm to connect.

Does this process consist of removing or lifting the engine? If not, this is something I'd like to try for my Accord...
and no, I wasn't powersliding... lol

Can be done without removing engine, but you'd need a welder you trust to do it right. Does wherever you live have anywhere you can think of do to the job?

If no one is willing to weld, it involves replacing the subframe which would cost a lot more for sure.
