well here's the story...my buddy was on his way to work and when he was going up a hill his car started to bog and the MIL came on. From there all the way to work, the car was falling on is face, no power. I pulled the car into the shop (we work together) and took a look. my initial diag was clogged converter..wasn't it. then i went to pull the dtc's and surprisingly none were stored. after listening the the car again..it sounds like a fuel issue, but i dnt have a fuel pressure gauge. compression is 160 on all 4 cyl. i have spark. i have some fuel pressure. the thing that gets me is it has a desent idle and when u SLOWLY open the throttle plate BY HAND it has just a slight misfire. but when u snap the throttle by hand or by the pedal and hold it @ WOT it just bogs and seems like it wants to stall. n if you spray throttle body cleaner in2 the TB it reacts like its starving for fuel. there is also extend crank time like the fuel pump check valve is bad. this car is giving me a head ache and i was hoping some1 could point something out i overlooked or some1 else had this problem and maybe tell me what fixed it for them. thanks in advance.
(sad to say i got to the point i started to throw parts @ it. i had a dizzy that i knew worked and threw it on, plugs, wires (off my car), fuel filter. i had these in my box, minus F.F)

good possibility it could be a bad fuel pump...too bad u cant check the fuel pressure on the fuel rail like the newer cars...remember sometimes fuel pumps will sometimes work half *** before they completely give out... i doubt its the catylitic converter burning up but its a possibility

CAR IS FIXED!!! well we got a fuel pressure gauge and the readings were -- KOEO 20psi the dropped to 0 psi immediately. so i told my friend to get a fuel pump. so when he dropped the tank for install, he noticed that the main feed line (rubber hose) was ruptured. he replaced the hose as well as the fuel pump. problem solved. thanks Oreo-TeCk for your input.
