Default Cruise Control Issues

i have a 00 civic automatic. I haven't used the cruise control in years. Decided to give it a try and it does the following:

The button and the light on the cluster works fine and the fuse looks good.

Going above 65mph and setting the cruise control: Nothing happens and the car slows to 55 mph. At that point the rpm picks up from 3k to 5k, but the speed doesn't seem to increase more than 1-2 mph never reaching 65mph. I pretty much step on the gas and turn off the cruise control after half a minute to not cause anymore damage.

Below 55mph with the cruise control set and the car just slows to zero.

Acceleration button on the cruise control doesn't seem to work either.

I'd appreciate any help on this. Thanks

Check the vacuum hose to the cruise servo.
