Default Help! GSR aftermarket exhaust problem.

What up HT. (in a good mood, got a interview for wendy's!)

anyway, I got my gsr, stock except for egay intake and egay exhaust from test to axle back. Vtec will not kick in all the time or rarely when my aftermartket axle back is installed. I just put it on last night. It didnt kick in 2nd gear. I had a problem with vtec a while ago before the axle back was installed but fixed it. before I put in axle back, it was working fine and it had the aftermarket test all way back but stock oem axle back. any ideas why?

oil is good
vtec sele is good
no CELs

If it revs to redline its fine. If there was an issue car would not rev up past a certain point cel light would be on. putting the new axleback prob changed the tone of the vehicle

If axle back, then you are saying that the cat is replaced. In which case the 2nd sensor may not be getting the reading it is looking for. other than the secondary sensor, an exhuast has no effect on the car's ability to get into v-tech

i hope this is a joke??? axle back exhaust has nothing to do with the cat and there are no sensors that would be involved. also, vtec has no dash or h. the only thing you got right is that an exhaust would have no effect on vtec engagement. To the OP search, there are a few things that will not allow vtec to engage.

Exaust has nothing to do with Vtec engaging. Check your wires tothe solenoid, make sure the screen inside is not clogged up. Have you had anything done to the ECU?

Ok check it out. the reason why i posted this thread is bcuz i know any exhaust shouldnt affect on vtec engaging. the problem is, when i have it off, it engages as it should, when I put it on, i dont hear it as much. barely 1st and 2nd gear, mostly third.
my vtec sele was cleaned numerous times, and screen isnt cracked. oil pressure is good, along with good oil measure. no CELs. stock p72 gsr ecu, never been touched. only sensor is the test, its connected and is good. just the axle back. MAYBE im just not hearing it cuz its so god dam loud but come on, when dont you hear vtec when you got it? mother****er screams WAHHHHHH!!

yeah dude, its just that fartcan. whats the use of an axle back anyway? no point but to be a nuisance. go back to your oem exhaust.

Ya, I would do that if I had the whole piping OEM stock.

This is kind of funny. There is another post in the ALLMOTOR section with the same issue.
Everybody just wants to hear VTEC.

I could be mistaking your axle back to be the front axle, when in fact you mean rear. Sorry!

Puzzling though, are you quite certain that that is the only change you make when this problems occurs, and only does it on the aftermarkt muffler? Does not make sense, I see why you posted this problem. I think the previous problem is reoccuring somehow. Just check it out to make sure. Or maybe you cant hear it. when i installed a thermal r&d, it was hard to hear at first.
