because you don't buckle up, vtec knows you are not ready for the power...

Sounds like a pretty obvious issue with the tune to me. Can you post your timing and fuel maps?

Have you performed the "Wack Map" technique? That could be your fix....

I have had this issue before, and I am running E-manage ultimate. Try adjusting your map clamp down. I was running 2.85V on my map clamp and adjusted it down to 2.7x. The factory ECU looks for a maximum of 1 atmosphere and if it sees more than that it retards ALOT of timing like that.

engage the vtec with a 12V source to see what happen

you will know if the oil line, vtec solenoid are good

vtec with a 12v source only clicks at the solenoid , nothing else happens.

at which RPM?

you need about 2-3k to have 45 psi+ oil pressure

Got the answer. it's cause you're low on gas. JK
Could it be back pressure, your cat/exhaust may need to be replaced? that could explain why u lose power at high rpm with back pressure. i hear vtec engage so dont think it's that.

You should check to see if you have bad gas., like with water in the tank. Thats what it sounds like to me. I know it sounds simple but ive had the problem before...drain the tank and put some good back in...

Does it do it all the time, or only at WOT? I had a similar issue, and it ended up being one of my coil packs. Vid at the bottom of the thread.. http://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php...&f=22&t=727458
