Icon2 Quick Question: Front Discs

Just removing my front discs, but i can't get them off.

The weird thing is, the discs on now do not have retaining screws..there's a pic at the bottom.

Now is there nothing keeping it on or is the axle nut keeping it on. I don't have long enough 8 mm bolts (if there are long ones that i can unbolt from the car to use please tell me where!!) to screw into the holes and i've hammered like crazy and tried using a c-clamp to no avail..

If there is nothing holding it on then i will just keep hammering..

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!

a long bolt is the easiest way. maybe battery hold down bolt??? or run to parts house and grab one

if not grab some penetrating oil, spray around the hub and wheel studs then hold a torch on it for a while. they hit away with a rubber mallet. time consuming but works sometimes.

if it were me i'd still run the the hardware store and grab a long bolt...

hit it in a cross motion on the rotor face if you're changing them out.

you should be able to just hit them with a rubber mallet and they should pop off thats how i got mine off if that doesnt work try a bigger hammer lol

i am so pissed off right now..

i have a 4lb hammer that works pretty well for beating off rusted discs

you should invest in one

Cold climates suck, man. Good luck getting this off. It looks like you need a torch. Usually, I just kick the **** out of the rotor and it comes off.

ps the holes in that rotor were for the retaining screws..so that's why the medium sized bolts i tried didnt work (they just threaded right into the hub)
