motor bogging out????
i had sprayed and cleaned my engine carpartment yesterday and sprayed a good amount of water around. after i was done drying it and putting armoral on it, i put it bk in garage. the next day i started it up and drove it for awhile, and later that night while driving it started bogging out and losing power. it got worst and worst as the night got. it stalled a few times so i parked it and checked it out. when i pulled out the spark wires from the head they had water on them. so i dryed them off with a shirt and put em bk and the car started but idled really rough and low. should i just let it dry out or wat? theres not alot of water there but i dont wanna take any chances. do i hv to change wires now? and spark plugs?? please help, thks

Sponge and bucket. It kills me when I see people blasting their engine bay with a hose. Only time that is acceptable is if the **** is on fire.
Do they clean the interior like that as well? lulz

true on that, i was spraying around it the motor but somehow some water found its way in the 2nd and 3rd spark plug hole. But i found a really good way to dry it tho!!! find a mop head and cut the like 4 or 5 of the threads(strings) off, then get a flathead screwdriver and start pushing the thread down the whole and wrap it slowly around the plug. keep pressing it down so u kno it gets to the bottom. let it sit there for about 5 min or so and pull it bk out.. it sucks up the water, this way when u take the plugs out water wont fall in the motor. just thought i'd share that, i thought it was a pretty good idea since u cant get a towel or anything else down that far to dry it, unless u hv some sort of minature shop vac. thks guys

ive sprayed water into my engine bay many times but i havn't like held the hose over the engine for like 2 days.... it all depends on how much water. i would change the oil and plugs and see what it does like others have said. and be careful next time or just dont do it
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAH
I can't stop laughing because the first day I bought my accord, I wanted to clean the engine bay and guess what??? I USED THE HIGH PRESSURE HOSE
I was fine for 4 mins then my car bogs and sounds like a WRX, few cylinder weren't firing because water got into the spark plug holes and changes the resistance etc etc.
What did I do??? Take off all your spark plug leads, distributor caps and clean it thoroughly and make sure they were dry. Spray water displacer on all electricals and leave it overnight or two to completely dry.

You have to KNOW how to use a pressure washer to clean your engine bay. People cleaning cars with distributors must wrap the distributor and take care not to directly spray sensitive ignition components.
^^X2
I pressure wash my cars engine bays at least monthly and have been for over a decade. as long as you cover vital components you're fine.
and why the hell do you guys keep suggesting changing the oil? Am I missing something here?
P.S. everyone needs to listen to Fiji....he's a genius.

i spray my engine bay with a pressure washer all the time. no problems here
umm i use a bucket of water and a rag wipe it down and bam looks new. And yea FIJI is right. Stop using armoral. Use a rag and water does the job on interior peices and the engince bay. If your bay is old and needs to sparkle use degreaser.
Just dont do waht my buddy did and use degreaser and a sos pad. What a dumb ***.

You use Meguiars engine dressing. You can wrap short ram filters and alternators with plastic food wrap. Some people find it tedious to spray their engine bay with degreaser and if this is something you do a lot you can do what I do and buy a 1 gallon chemical bug sprayer and put you agent in that.
