stock intake? cold air intake? what? intake could have sucked in some water. and if it did you may now have bad rings from it trying to compress it and not being able to.

Cold air intake is the only thing I can think of, unless you splashed through the water like a mad man.

Comperssion test is deff on the way tomorrow morning. Um as far as intake goes its a makeshift cold air.. Stock intake till where the box is suppost to be than a funel type to a filter right under.. Its about a foot away from the ground. And my speed was about 5mph when it happend... One of the boys say i may have floated a valve...

i don't understand how if the intake filter is in front of the tire, how it will splash up there. by the time your tire hits the water, your filter was already in there first. know what i mean? the only way you would have hydrolocked your car, is if your filter was submersed in water. and, i say pull the head off and take a look see.

Its not hydro locked ^^ it runs just has a loud tick in the head area. An the fillter is infront of the tire, about a foot away from the ground. I never got that deep in to the water.

All it has to do is SUCK SOME IN......not be submerged. You have any holes in your fender liner around the filter?

LOL

I sucked up a lot of water in my old zc dohc a couple years back driving to work...i had a homemade cold air as well and didnt have a bypass valve either...my car started to bog and shake really bad but decided to just run the engine for 30 minutes straigt to burn off some of the water and it never had a problem after that...just rev if lightly at times when its ideling and see if it goes away...!!!

cant suck that much water unless you hit a big dip of water. i hooked up my window washer tubing to spray water into my intake pipe to clean up the carbs ( pass smog ) drove around like that for a week filled up the washer fluid resvr twice. white smoke comes out the exhaust. if you spray to much it will bogg. just gotta burn out the water. sound stupid but it works.

Cause it circulated the oil through your berings to remove the water right?

Dude just do a compression test. And you shouldn't have water in your bearings because the crankcase wasn't exposed to water. Does the car run fine?

Wouldnt a compression test only tell me if my rings are gone or if its holding pressure?
