whats the diff between wagons
im looking to buy a wagon and i want the awd now i see they make them in a 5 speed and a 6speed. now as far as the drive train and the way the diff works are they both the same between the 5spd and 6 spd ???
I'm just going off what the parts catalog calls them here:
1988 CIVIC WGN ** WAGOVAN (4AT/5MT)
1988 CIVIC WGN 4WD 1600 (5MT)
1988 CIVIC WGN DX (4AT/5MT)
1989 CIVIC WGN ** WAGOVAN (4AT/5MT)
1989 CIVIC WGN 4WD 1600 (4AT/5MT)
1989 CIVIC WGN DX (4AT/5MT)
1990 CIVIC WGN 4WD 1600 (4AT/5MT)
1990 CIVIC WGN DX (4AT/5MT)
1991 CIVIC WGN 4WD 1600 (4AT/5MT)
1991 CIVIC WGN DX (4AT/5MT)
Am I missing something?

the 6 speed really aint shat. its just a super low gear for snow and schtuff. its mainly a conversation piece these days. but yea i think they made the 4wd 5 speed as well. maybeee not. oh well it dont matta. go b series! haha i wonder if you can swap crv parts over.

They were all 6 speed. Though the 6th gear which is basically half of first, isn't in a sequential position.
would be fun if you could swap in ZC 1~4, Si 5th, and then hf 5th.
Or maybe even ZC 1~5 and then hf 5th for freeway.
Totally doubt it would be possible, but a D series 6 speed... nice.

no the later 89-91 wagons were a rt awd (real time ) so all wheels start to push when the front slips like on a subaru. the early ones were just a low 4 wheel drive.
