Default 98 Accord, about to go under the knife with a 3g spending limit

Alright you guys,

Lyk I previously posted.....

My 00' altima got into an accident last month, and instead of using the 3gs from insurance to buy a new car, my mom gave me her 98 Accord LX sedan.....so of course, I'm gonna use the money to fix it up....

Ill post pix wen I get the chance, cuz I'm doing all of this on my Bberry right now...

First things first, the hood has a CrAzY amnt of sun damage, and here front bumpers were poppd bak into place from an old "fender bender" type scenario,

So I wantd to start off things by doing a whole front end conversion into a 02 Coupe... :-)

I think all I need is the 02 Front Bumper, and the 02 hood right ?? And the grill is a slide in... RIGHT? Correct me if I'm wrong guys...lol...

From there, I was gonna take it to a body shop to get some fresh paint...

And, as far as under the hood work goes...

I'm trying to make the Alreaddy sexy sounding Vtech 10x better....

Maybe by adding sum Headers, a ShortRam intake....a HiFlo cat, and a nice muffler....

Lol, the only brands I kno are Injen, AEM, Remus, DC, and Apexi, so if u guys kno some other better sounding stuff LET ME KNOW....

And, I was gonna change out the headlights for sumthin wit Halo's....

Then sum LED tailights......

Then I was gonna add a spoiler.....

Sounds like a plan or what ??

A System for the Radio and Sum Rims are gonna b the last thing I do.....

Lol, hopefully, 3500 would b enuff to cover all of that...

Help me you guys, I can use your expertise......

I just want the car to LOOK and SOUND sexy...

RACING is not the objective....lol

well are you a high school kid trying to go ricer cuz that seems like its the route your taking i suggest getting the 02 front end if you like i dont know how hard the process is or if its just as simple as you say...keep the head lights oem or get the sir headlight they are cf1 or someshit i forgot someone quote me on this and get some HID plug and plays...keep oem tails...if you want a spoiler dont go to crazy no metal i suggest this is all IMO...o yea if you want to make VTEC sound more hard and roaring get a h22 but u are in a budget so intake and exhaust will do...but agian this is all IMO and depends on what brands your getting and if your installing it your self you might make the 3500 budget but i think it may be more

NO, I'm not in HS, thanks...

I just don't know exactly what I'm doing....

That's the reason why I'm posting.....

Considering that the hood and bumper together might end up costing lyk 500bux together......the conversion is sumthing I want to do....my uncle owns a shop, so, putting parts in the car is not that serious.

As far as the conversion goes, I wanna kno if I'm gonna need the coupes Fenders too ??....

-----

Also, Header+HiFlo Cat+ShortRam+Cool Muffler was an equation for a nice purrrrr. I only hav that conclusion cuz that's what a friend suggested. I'm open to suggestions.

And the spoiler was just going to be a near OEM spoiler. Nothing off the wall....it was just going to get its spot on the car since I'm going to be in the body shop anyway...

ur gonna have to do a lil modding to the bumper and i dont believe u need a 02 hood, but just another hood from a 6th gen will wrk... i agree OEM heads, if nething with the heads do a black housing, plug and play HIDs as cd5 suggested... id go for just a stock spoiler, and agreed no metal or nething crazy.. stock tails, tint them if nething...

Q) Will a 98-00 front bumper fit my 01-02 accord?
A) Yes, but some minor modification will be required.

Q) Will a coupe bumper fit the sedan it looks like it will?
A) Yes. But there will be a small gap between the top of the bumper and the hood. You will also need the top cross bar.

Q) Will the coupe fenders fit the sedan?
A) Yes.

Q) Will a coupe hood fit my sedan?
A) Yes.

okay, i know i sound soo undecisive right now, but, what if i used the front bumper of a 98 Coupe instead of the 02 coupe, would i have to do any type of mods since its the same year ??

and im pretty sure im going to have to change the hood because the design is a little different.

Ok, let's clear some things up real quick...

1. For the front end, all you need is the bumper and hood. If you get an 02 bumper, get an 02 hood. I'm not sure if there's any different between, say, a 98 hood and an 01 hood. You don't need fenders. Bumper and hood are bolt on.

2. Real SiR headlights require custom body work to fit, including modifying the hood, bumper and fenders to fit. Not worth it, IMO.

3. If all you want is more sound, just remove the stock resonator from the intake and get a decent cat-back. Forget the header, high-flow cat, and aftermarket intake.

4. If all you want to spend is $3500, you'd better get the things you really want first. I don't think you'll be able to do everything you listed for only that amount, unless you get lower-quality products. If you want good quality stuff, you might have to wait on either the stereo equipment or rims. By not getting an intake, header, and high-flow cat, you can better spend that money on other stuff that will bring you closer to your goal of "looking and sounding sexy."

5. Before anyone tries to bash you for it, it's "header", not "headers". There's only one bank of cylinders. It's also VTEC, not Vtech.

Good luck.

ull still have to do a lil modifications to it... cause its still a coupe bumper.. it doesnt matter about the year.... it still needs to b done no matter which 6th gen year u take it from... and as for the hood i dont believe it has to b of the same year. it should still wrk just fine

Save your money and forget about the spoiler and the cheezy Halo head lights and LED tail lights. Get some red and white JDM style tails and some black housing head lights (both were like $50 a piece for me) and call it a day. Looks WAY more clean.

Spoilers on the 4 dr (besides like an M3 style lip spoiler) don't really look right.

Saving money here will allow you to get nicer wheels/better stereo/more performance parts/etc.

I am for the coupe front end conversion too. Looks pretty sweet. If not, you can always just get a lip for the front and it'll still look somewhat sporty.

Just my opinion though, do what you want. Its your car.
