NEW TIRE SUGGESTIONS - 00 Si wheels
I had Kumho excsta platinum asx from tirerack.com. The treadwear rating was 600 - not the stickiest tires in wet weather, but if you drive like a maniac to get them hot enough, you'll have good traction - and those tires wear like steel. Drive on them for months and you don't notice any wear...
i've got 195/55 kuhmo ecstas right now. i cant seem to find the direzza's z1 star spec in 205/50... anyone have any experience with yokohoma s.drives or have any suggestions?

i had these, they grip pretty well for cheap tires

they say they dont do well in the wet or snow, but i drove them in the snow and they did just fine.
they only perform poorly when they wear down to nothing, but thats typical of any tire in wet/snowy weather

Running S-Drives in 205/50/15, excellent traction in wet/dry just did 1100 miles on them interstate and mountain roads in wet and dry conditions. Low noise on all but severely degraded roads. Blow the terrible bfg sports I had away, they were also ridiculously load, thought all my wheel bearings were shot with the BFGs.
205's looking funky on Si's.
I'd recommend Falken Ziex 512 (Not 912!!) in 195/55/15 if youre looking for a semi sporty tire. I really like how the flat Ziex side wall complements the flat faced Si rims.
If you want something more aggressive, BF Goodrich G-Sport in 195/55/15.
If you mean business, Falken Azenis RT615.

Thanks for all the suggestions guys. time for me to go do some research. Just sold my old powerbook for $450 so its time to buy sofia some new rubbers lol
and yes..i named her
keep the tires coming though lol i'll probably decide by the end of the week, my tires are getting quite bare
Im surprised people complain so much about BF good rich tires being so loud. I have no complaints over noise from them.
I seen someone recommended G Force T/A KDW's. Those are some seriously awesome tires. They grip real nice, good handling in the rain, dont wear fast, and arent too loud. I highly recommend these, but they are a little too pricey for what they offer. You can get Azenis for cheaper and they are sticker.
What you have under the hood doesnt mean much when it comes to tires. I have a D16Y8 under my bonnet, and tires are my main priority.
Plus, just because you have a weak SOHC doesnt mean you cant have a little fun and take turns faster than usual.

i have falken ziex 512s now, they are 14s, but i like them, good tire for the money,
falkens are great tires, but mine seem kinda loud to me, but none the less i like them, will buy again.

If you have the money go for the NEW BFG GForce Sport ALL SEASON (they are about $90/tire) if not, go with the Nitto NeoGens, they are EXCELLENT ultra high performance summer tires that can be bought for only about $70/tire. As for size go 205/50 you WONT be sorry.
