latest welds

getting a little better i think
these are all backpurged with 100% penetration. mostly fusion welds as this is a downpipe.

You should put some filler in there, they look a little under cut. The weld on the vband looks good.

im trying to find some really small dia rod so i can keep the beads as small as possible.

is a fusion weld where you just "fuse" the peices together with no filler? Looks good, just trying to learn the lingo haha

on that thickness material you should be able to get full penetration without beveling the ends and get a better bead with still not using filler.

i didnt bevel the butts, and penetration was 100% so yeah.

if your looking for smaller rod, you can always get some mig feed wire. thats what i use for thinner stuff

try some .035" 308 filler.. its tiny and makes for good beads/filler that doesnt cool down the puddle too much and doesnt add too much like 1/16" does.
