Default LS running rough

ok guys so i have been working on trying to get my ls running better for awhile now. i did the wiring for the mpfi on the car myself and the car is using an aftermarket distributor. when i try to start the car its pretty tough to do so, but it will start up eventually. when running it runs like absolute crap, it sounds like its running on 3 cylinders and it wont rev up at all and back fires a little.
now the weird thing is that when i turn the car on the only thing the ecu is doing is blinking once then a pause, blinking once then a pause continously. i have the o2 sensor hooked up so i dont know why it would be throwing the code. ive been trying to switch around the dizzy wiring with no luck, but imma keep trying.
i tried switching the tps wires around and it made it idle and run on all 4 cylinders, but it was revving at like 3.5k rpm. also if i used 16 gauge wiring to do the mpfi is that too big of a wire?
i just need some advice really, thanks

Did you make sure you did not switch the TPS plug with the Map sensor plug? The plug the map sensor is plugged into should be Green/White Red/Yel and White.

Alot of people switch this around.

Also did you switch the outside TPS wires? The Green/White and the Yel/White. Wasn't sure if this is what you were referring to when you said you switched them, just making sure.
