integra shifter in a civic?
i gotta stock '97 civic, i was wondering if i could use a gsr shifter in it instead of the civic one. if so, any special modifications need to be done to make it fit?
if you try putting a gsr aftermarket short shifter in your civic you might have some fitment problems(don't quote me on that) i have a sohc eg hatchback and currently using a dc2 gsr stock shifter modded to fit and the throws are shorter...saved me $80...if you want i have another one for sale for $40 direct bol-on...let me know
According to my friend that has a GSR short shifter in his 97 LX, it will bolt right up, but it might rattle a bit, but it can be rigged not to rattle.
I have a Type R shifter in my ex coupe. Actually there are some mods u need to do. Considering the gsr is shorter throw than a stock civic, your shift linkage might rub against your exhaust pipe, like it did mine. I had to cut the hanger that keeps my exhaust pipe up to fit the shifter. The only problem is that the exhaust pipe scrapes every driveway I go over. Other than that, the shifter fits right in.

if you put a gsr shift lever in a civic you have tpo cut the outer sleeve down to civic size and use the civic inner sleeve then it will work perfectly!
you cant just bolt one in the sleeve is alot wider on the gsr and you wouls have to bend the fork that it bolts into on the bottom
