rattle can stock plastic sideskirts?
I have a 2000 Honda Civic EX 4dr. It has the stock plastic sideskirts, and I was wondering how it would look if I rattlecan'd them to match the rest of the car. I found a website where I can buy factory color-matched aerosol spray cans. My car is titanium metallic color. Has anyone done it before? if so, pics please! Thanks
ive done it before with duplicolor but i got milano red instead of roma red for my hatch so its not the right color and i only put one coat of paint so it eventually peeled and cracked looked good before but now it looks like crap i dont have any pics of my sideskirt painted but i have one of my bumper while drying, which also ended up crappy looking. But if you do good prep work and apply enough coats of paint it should look good and stay looking good.

Okay, thanks. I probably will try it once I decide to order the aerosol can of titanium metallic. Unless more people post with horror stories?
Consider using adhesion promoter, and possibly a rubberized primer (which will flex better once dry on plastic parts without cracking).
Here's the process I was thinking of doing:
1. First, sand it with some sandpaper by hand until it is just rough enough for the paint to adhere, then clean it off to get all the dust, dirt, etc. off.
2. Then, I was thinking of spray painting it with some Rust-o-leum paint that I already have, since it has primer in it and I don't want to have to buy some.
3. After a coat or 2 of the primer rust-o-leum paint, I'd do multiple coats of the color matched Honda paint, until it looks good.
4. Then I'd probably buy some spray-on clearcoat to keep it looking clean.
How does that sound? Would I need to buy primer-only spray paint, or would that work? Will it last if I don't use rubberized primer? Thanks.

I won't be using Duplicolor trim paint if I do it though, it'll be color-matched paint in an aerosol can, probably after a layer of Rust-o-leum paint with primer. Would you still expect good results if done well?
