Default I'm suffering in this heat!! Need AC Help!

AC blows hot air from outside. I filled the AC and it blew cold for like a day then it went back to hot air. I know I have a leak somewhere. I have my soapy water spray bottle handy, where do I start spraying?

In the winter the heat in the car works flawlessly so like I said I'm guessing this is due to a leak somewhere. Can anyone post a diagram or picture of where I should be looking?

The car in question is a 96 Accord LX Auto

Just take it to one of the shops with the free diagnosis, then bounce once they locate your problem

But to answer your questions, start with the 2 lines and their connections in the engine bay running from the compressor to the firewall

Ok. So should I crank up the AC to the max, spray it with soapy water to locate the air leak? Is this easily fixed. I don't think it's the compressor. What are the signs of a failing compressor? Thanks 213374U

The a/c system has refrigerant oil in it; and when it leaks it usually attracts dust and remains moist. I would look closely at the condenser (it's susceptible to impact damage and corrosion from the build up of organics (rotting leafs), at the front of the compressor (shaft seal leak), and check the pipes and hoses leading back to the evaporator case.

Cool. I'm going to buy a Haynes Manual after work because everything you said just gave me a migraine. Thanks for the input P Adams.

LOL. I'm reminded periodically that I have that effect , but I've taken heart; at least you're willing to read.
