Videos: Local Autocross Aug 19th
First off, if this post isn't allowed in this section i'm sorry, i didnt know, and i didnt see a rules thread
these are night videos, so not great quality. 2 weeks from now is the next running, and ill be in the first run group. so it will be daylight
my best time as a 51.7 with a cone (pretty obvious which run it was i got the cone) and my first run on this course a couple weeks ago my best time was 51.2 (not video recorded)
track was wet as it rained most of the night, and this was my first time running in the dark.
The car is a 95 civic dx, completely stock. blown front shocks. tires are stock 13" cheap sumitomo's
Im wide open to any comments/suggestions. im still a noob at auto x, as this was only my second ever auto x.
i already know i need better tires, and if i had a job right now i would definitely put some better suspension and a rear bar on to help with that front end push. and i need to take the lead out of my brake foot cause locking up the front tires definitely doesn't help me get around the turns.
(if you crank the brightness on your monitor you can see the videos better)

Keeping the lead out of your brake foot isn't a bad thing. The key is to do it before your corner. I finally figured this out and got 2 seconds quicker. If you come into a corner fast, slam on the brakes, and then accelerate through it you'll do alot better.
thanks for the advice.
the problem with my lead brake foot was compounded by having to downshift. i wasnt locking them up until i downshifted. (engine brake + brakes = more than my tires can handle)
hopefully the next one (sept 2) it will be dry, the wet track, mixed with dark, was pretty difficult for me as this was only my second auto x ever.
i did however, run in the top 5 of my class both auto x's i ran.
i know i can drop at least 2 seconds of my time if i learn how to drive lol.

well last night was the next event, ALOT of people came out and we only got 4 runs.
this time i used my first 2 runs to just work on my lines, where im braking, and where im accelerating.
in my first vid, i even left it in 2nd gear most of the course.
i amazed myself with a 52.5 even tho i wasnt really going for a good time
run 2 i bettered that and got my best time of the season (at this point) with a 51.018 (no video)
run 3 i let a kid have a ride so no video, only a 51.7
run 4, final run, i decided to give it all i had, with my new line, and braking points.
came out with an amazing (by my standards) 49.64
