Default Anyone swap a y8 trans onto a d16y7?

I have a lighter flywheel and clutch for my 97 dx coupe, but I'm wondering if I should wait to get a quicker ex transmission. For those of you that have done this swap, is the acceleration noticeably quicker?? or should i just throw in the lighter flywheel with my current trans and enjoy highway gears and better gas mileage??

get the Y8 tranny, sell the lighter flywheel, replace the clutch while tranny is out.

Some people think heavier is better for drag racing, I'm not one of them.

The Y8 trans will make it a little more fun, but not a whole lot coming from the Y7 coupe trans.

Keep the flywheel... Just dont go super light if you still have a choice...

11-12lbs is good... The car will be a lil bit more peppy... Especially with the Y8 trans...

7.5lb works fine in my 2,340lb as driven car. Even when a 200lb passenger and 3-4 transmissions are added in.

Chris, you/we understand this, but think about the general owner. Most play stoplight races and 7.5 lb flywheel, they will bog it.

No perfect answer.
