Anything I should know before swapping tranny's?
I'm about to swap on a y8 tranny onto a y7 block. I was looking at the y7 tranny, its hydro correct? I'm assuming the y8 is a hydro tranny as well then. Is it a direct bolt on? Will the y7 pressure plate and disk mate with the y8? As well as the flywheel?
I'm assuming the mounts are the same as well. Anything else I should know before I take on this tedious task? Thanks

Everything is interchangeable, just make sure you got 2qt's of oil and maybe a new shift linkage pin if desired, and if theres nothing wrong with the clutch/ flywheel theres really no reason to remove them

Yes, EVERY D-Series transmission since 1992 has been hydraulic.
Yes, your clutch/flywheel is interchangeable with the D16Y8 transmission.
Yes, it's a DIRECT bolt-on.
Pick up 2 quarts of Pennzoil/GM Synchromesh and you're good to go.
