Default Blower and AC problem

92 Honda Accord

My blower was only working on the highest setting, which I was told was a bad resistor. I took out the blower motor (not easy) and replaced the resistor. Now, the blower is working perfectly at all settings, but I no longer get cool air from the air conditioner. It seems like the AC is running, as the electricity "dims" as it normally does, but the air never gets cooler. The AC was working really well before, but of course it would only blow on the high setting. It got very cool before and seemed to be working fine.

What could be causing this? Bad fuse? Could I have blocked something accidentally when I put the blower motor back in? The switch that goes from internal to external air seems to be changing the airflow, and that seemed to be the only vents in the blower motor. Is there some kind of flap or something that lets the cool air in that I might have obstructed somehow?

Any help on this is extremely appreciated.

If you've already confirmed that the Compressor is engaging then:

I suspect that something came adrift with regards to the Temperature Blend Door in the heater case when you went rooting around for the fan Resistor.
Are you still feeling the same resistance when you operate the temp ****?

I think I felt the same resistance. It didn't seem different. Is there a temperature blend flap in the heating mechanism right next to the blower then? It is certainly possible that I screwed something up in there, as it was a real chore wiggling the motor in and out.

Okay, so now it seems like neither the compressor nor the fan are kicking on? Someone mentioned it could be low on freon, which will cause neither one to come on. I'm not so sure. I guess it's possible that it is something sort of unrelated, but when I was just messing around with the blower motor, it seems like a big coincidence that something would go wrong with the AC now without it being related.

I wonder now if I forgot to reconnect something. I connected the three harnesses that are attached to the blower motor. I remember there being another small blue wiring harness, but I don't think it was connected to anything to begin with, is that right, or should it be connected to something?

Any connection which would effect both the compressor AND the fans would be mounted in the control head, which you were nowhere near.
I would first suggest checking your fuses (both locations) with a 12v test light tool. Visual inspections can sometimes come up short.

pull the glove box and check that the thermostat in the evaperator is pluged in as it's the only thing in that area that can cause that unless somthin else went wrong.

Can you tell me where the thermostat in the evaporator would be located and what it looks like?

it's inside of the evaporator and cannot be seen w/o pulling...but the plug is in the area just pull the glove box back out and look for a 3 pin plug not plugged or not all the way in..

Guys, thanks for your help. I got the issue resolved. It was actually sort of unrelated to the resistor. I took the car to a shop and they found that the freon was low, so the compressor and fan won't come on when the freon was low.

They recharged the freon and everything is working perfectly now, including the blower fan which I fixed.
