cool that should be nice. My new setup is a Garret 30r, Weisco (std) Pistons, Weisco Piston Rings, Helix Forged Rods, BC 272s, and ACL Coated Race Main/Rod Bearings. I am looking for 400-450whp.

clean cars, both of them. i bet you are loving the STI, i know i am!
after i finished building my GSR as a daily, i also upgraded to a WRB 04 STI. i bought mine from middle aged guy. it was completely stock with only 18k miles. it came with alot options available for the 04 too. cf interior, radio, lamco boost gauge, fogs, armrest extension, etc, and i got it for a steal too lol!

right now i am protuned stage2:

accessport v2
invidia catless DP
SPT CBE
SPT turbo heat shield
thermotec turbo wrap
killerbmotorsports delrin shift ****
killerbmotorsports radiator shroud

ill be doing some coilovers and the killerbmotorsports ultimate oil pickup that are sitting in my garage in the next few months. i just havent had time to install them.

They are Hella Supertones, you can buy them anywhere on the net. I got mine from a vender off nasioc.com

Thats a nice setup man, good luck with the future mods. I have a bunch of parts waiting for install now. I try to keep all my cars simple and clean.

thanks dude, i am of the same opinion.

i love the way your car looks.

mine will probably look pretty similar once i install the coilov3rs and a limited lip.

look into the killerb oil pickup if you havent already, this is a real problem with the ej25 blocks. once it goes it goes quick and with little warning.

i am done with power upgrades ftm. i want to have fun, but keep it reliable, and i am very happy with the stg2 protune i am running now.

in the future i will focus more on suspension like a whiteline ALK larger rear sway.

goodluck!

I have to say the sti because of many reasons. Mainly thieves in my area, I can park my sti all day long in the same spot. I could never do that with my si, even though I had an alarm, cut off switches, and a detachable steering wheel. There were just too many people that wanted to steal it.

Peace of mind is priceless and the Sti provides that along with the awd for the N.E. winters and lots of usable low end power for the city commute. Once I get a house with a secured garage. I will most likely start a project civic build.

you can make that kinda power with just doing the turbo you have listed... your kinda wasting money on parts if you only wanna make 400-450 and buying pistons ,rods, cams etc you can make 500hp on the stock sti motor.. there are many ppl running 400-450 reliably and DD'ing there cars and not having the problem

yes there are some that take the RISK in pushing the motor past it's limits. There are major issues with the strength of the sti pistons past 350whp. The terms insurance and growth come to mind with my build. There is no point in just installing pistons if your taking the motor apart. Upgrade your rods and while your at it drop in some cams.

Just as you see many ppl running 400-450 reliably there is a list twice as long of blown motors attempting to do it. So I will buy those internal components and recommend any other Subaru owner that plans on making 350+ to do the same. Those parts total less than 2gs a new motor runs 4500ish.

- The vast majority of those blown motors would be '06+ motors.
- You can get a new 2.5l short block from Subaru for $1800 all day, which is all you would need.
- $4500 could get you a Cosworth shortblock if you looked or a Ver7/8 swap with better heads/internals and twin scroll.

Better safe than sorry though if you have the money to spend. Car looks great, good luck on the build.
