camshaft swap
im getting ready to purchase new cams for my GSR..im still debating on ITR or CTR cams. As far was i know the ctr intake cam has better duration but i was wondering what kind of swap would be the best, a pair of ctr's? itr exuast and ctr intake?.. i also was told that keeping your stock exuast and putting a ctr intake is also good..thanks for your help!
do a search, tons of topics on this subject https://honda-tech.com/zerosearch
I personally would not waste money on either ITR cams or CTR cams if you're gonna pull the head. Just save up and get some JUN's or Toda cams. Thats my opinion, but to each their own.
You don't exactly have to "pull" the whole head to just have cams put in, but its alot of work if your going to put springs and retainers in, which the ctr and itr cams don't require you to do. Btw the ctr exhaust cam is the same as the itr exhaust cam, installing these cams alone wont yeild that much of a power gain, you'll need atleast a vafc to raise the vtec engagement point, and only then will a few hp be gained. Tuning is the key to acquiring decent amounts of hp with cam swaps.

That pretty much says it all. I have '01 ITR cams and they're a good upgrade. They can be had for pretty cheap and you don't have to change your valvetrain, assuming you keep your stock redline of course. Even untuned they make a difference, but proper tuning is key.
