HELP - gas pedal clicking
hi - I have a 2008 Civic Coupe EX that I bought in November. Since I bought it there has been an almost constant clicking in the gas pedal when I am driving. It happens the whole time I am driving with my foot on the pedal. I have taken it in to the dealership and of course they say they can't replicate the problem. They said they can't remove and reinstall the pedal because of the drive by wire system. Has anyone heard of an issue like this? I have also gotten really low gas mileage the whole time I have had the car - 21 in the city and 27 on the highway. I am thinking it may be related to the pedal issue, but the dealership won't take me seriously. Thanks in advance for any info!
Have not seen this with my 08.
My 99 does this whenever i hit the pedal. When I step on it or release. If my foot is constant I don't hear anything, but do not see a decrease in mpg

Thanks for the response. Yeah, when I take my foot off the pedal I hear a clicking sound. I'm sure that's normal, but the constant clicking when my foot is actually on the pedal is annoying. It sounds like a ballpoint pen clicking and I have to turn the radio up to drown it out. Of course the dealership doesn't hear anything. I am not even **** about stuff like this - everyone who rides with me can hear it. Just wondering if the pedal was installed incorrectly and if they can actually take it off and check it out.
My '07 Si clicks a little but not enough to bother me.
As for the dealer telling you that they can't take it out. Um...I love how the service writer makes stuff up as they go along. The pedal is nothing more than a part with a harness attached to it. remove bolts, remove harness plug, replace.
It could be the actual potentiometer on the gas pedal or some linkage involved with it. If you go back to the dealer, demonstrate the noise.
