Default Fun Sunday: Installed that Dry Carbon Wrap on a friend's roof/trunk. Suby and Miata c

i've been planning to do the roof of my mini for a while now, want to put it on the site...
planned all week to do it Sunday..

come Sunday though, i'm somehow talked into doing a friends daily.

i'm not to up on my subaru speak, but its one of the pretty older ones. lol.

midway through the day, my friend showed up in his 2 hour old miata.
the rear piece was rhinolined with some crap.
we sanded what hadn't chipped off and applied the wrap there.

some general pics of the vinyl.

just to show how easy it is to work with the vinyl...
and how easy it is to correct mistakes....

we worked on the trunk in the wrong way- wound up with a lot of material bunched in the center.
we just peeled it back stretched out the wrinkles and went at it again.

heres the pic of that:

The roof looks great, but the trunk is a bit much.

I get you... but, come on man, you know there are many people out there that buy c/f parts just for the look. Sad truth. That being the case, it's cheaper for those people to go this route and just get a wrap done.

On that note, good work jbell.

fwiw: the suby had peeling clearcoat on the roof and trunk, and the mini was... rhinolined.

thats very true, why but a full carbon fiber peice when you can do carbon fiber wraps, or carbon fiber sticker for much less, i plan to do it on my hood and trunk, i think itll look great FOR LOOKS, but i also think youll loose credit once they see the inside of the trunk lol

carbon fiber are mainly for looks in the street car circuit, one peice of carbon fiber (like a carbon fiber hood) doesnt reduce your time at all, lol

material prices are on the site, so it really depends on the sq footage used.

as for the installs, its roughly $100 for a roof, $150 for a trunk/roof, etc.

Anyone want to measure a 2000 civic hatch for me?

Looks awesome, but how does it handle the elements: rain, dirt, bird presents, sunlight fading, chips?
My front bumper could use this for sure. Would that be possible?
