Amber corners
I've seen people asking about amber corners and hearing they cost upward of 50 bucks. Well I gotta digicam today and thought I'd share mine that I painted.

I used this for the paint. http://www.michaels.com/art/online/D...prrfnbr=863545
orange and red. first I'd like to add that all of those are factory lights. yes it would look better to start off with clears.
How to do step by step:
1st order paint from michaels gonna cost right at 25 bucks.
2nd remove stock lights
3rd wet sand with 400 grit sandpaper.
4th rinse off and let dry
5th tape off the outsides
6th Spray a REALLY REALLY light coat of the paint.
7th wait 15 minutes and do another light coat. the 1st pic CRX was 2 coats of orange and then fogged about 12 inches from the light for even coverge. I then fogged the light with a mist of red.
the 2nd light Accord was 2 coats orange and 1 coat red.
The 3rd the EG light was 5 coats orange.

Your instructions are pretty descriptive except id like to know if yoru painting on the outside or inside of the glass? Ive heard of people painting inside where teh bulb goes.. that soudns messy! Im going to go your route. It looks nice, but starting with clear corners? i have yet to see a set of "non-leaking" aftermarket clear corners. They all seem to be crap. Im assuming apc manufactors them. lol
I've been wanting to paint my corners to full amber, but finding the paint has been the big issue... till now. I have a Michael's craft store here in the town I work!
Of course, I would paint to the inside of an aftermarket all clear lense, as for leaking issues, a little silicon will go a long way.

you can also go to a hobby store and buy some orange transparent (sp?) paint... they dont have them in an aerosol (sp? again) can, but comes in little small bottles...cost about $3-4 around my area...just pour about 2 bottles in a paper bowl and use a sponge type brush from Michaels ($.25 w/ tax)...
Heres my '89 with about 2 coats...
Any my '95 with about 5 coats...

stay clear
Just went to the Michaels here in town looking for the stained glass paint, looked and looked with no luck. I was walking out of the store when I passed a rack in the middle of the aisle full of clearance stuff, including the Krylon stained glass paint! Reduced to $1. haha, I bought 6 cans of orange for a grand total of $6.39. Glad I went to the store before buying online!
I apologize if anyone is going to try and go go the greenville, NC store and do the same, but I bought all of it.

Painted my stock corners last week, I love the look, I painted mine a little dark since someone said they will fade, even if they fade a lot I still have 4.75 cans of the paint left over!
Here's a picture, as you can see the stock corner on this side is broken:
The other side is in better shape, but I didn't want everyone making fun of my poorly fitting front bumper... but I guess you could make fun of it from this picture too!
