Yes, you can. You can go as low as your wastegate spring (or the creep of your wastegate).

Those GM solenoids suck. Get a MAc valve or something not plastic.

and that is not the same one you have linked. You have a MAC valve linked.

Yes it is an option that needs to be installed if you plan to run the AEM/HONDATA/MAC solenoid through the PWM boost output (A11). If you are going to use something like the dual or quad stage boost controller, then you can use one of the other 3 nitrous outputs. Those can set the solenoids as an on/off only, but can be set on engine specific parameters.

I agree, the new mac style valve provided by hondata is the replacement for the GM solenoid they used to provide us with. They both work, however the MAC valve is a better part.

You can run a base pressure at what ever your wastegate spring is rated at. I.E. 1 bar = 14 psi etc...

You would then need a boost controller if you wanted to exceed the rating of your wastegate spring...

will the AEM true boost solenoid work with the S300? It looks like a mac valve, but is the frequency compatible?

my friend said the boost solenoid is to run boost by gear only, is that correct? can i just run s300 by the wastegate or boost controller, as long as it doesnt exceed the spring of the wastegate?

Incorrect. You can run boost by rpm or high & low boost settings etc.
Concerning your 2nd question, the s300 system doesn't care if you use the boost solenoid you can run directly off the wastegate using your wastegate spring etc...
