thats what im talking about. Its called 3 stage because it has 3 "stages" VTEC-E (basically 1 valve intake) , Normal, and VTEC (higher lift lobes)

Im in Miami so it would have to be shipped. How much for a solenoid?
I might save up for a little bit to get the one that you have since its so clean, what kind of miles are on it?
Also do you know what kind of cam it uses? Its a special one right?

and do u have any higher res pics of it?

what color is it stock? I'm probably not even going to use it though. What dizzy does it use? I can use the same one that fits on a Z6 head right? Because its the same cast as the Z6 or so ive heard.

Nah I will probably just keep my Y8 Valvecover. Like I have right now on my Z6 head. My car is sleeper and if u pop the hood it looks like a stock motor with a turbo kit. I am going to port out my IM to work with this new 68mm TB im getting but it will still all look stock. Most people who see the double Solenoids wouldnt even know wtf it is and just assume its regular VTEC anyway.

I asked this ? in the tuning section, but would you know if eCtune or what EMS can control the 3 Stage VTEC? Because it pops @ around 2.5k and then again @ 5.5k.

Its obd1? So ur sure that the Z6 Dizzy will work on it then? Can you read me the code from the head? So I can do research and confirm it

ya thats the code for a y8 head. Why is it a Y8? K lemme do some more research. because Y8 heads aren't great for boost, they have smaller combustion chambers giving them a better chance for detonation.

Edit: It doesnt make sense though... that code matches some found on 98 USDM Y8's... So I wonder if the Cast is the same is the difference in the cam/rocker arms? Because I dont want a Y8 type head. But I want the 3 stage VTEC as it will allow my car to get great gas mileage cruising and still make great power on boost. I wonder if its possible to swap the valvetrain into a Z6 head...

maybe the 3 stage one is of a Y8 cast, i dunno. I've never actually seen one in person before because they are too rare. Can you take more pics of it up close? I'm going to try to figure out if its possible to swap the valvetrain out of it into a Z6 head. I was just reading that the Double (3 stage) VTEC head has a weird combustion chamber, one even unlike a y8, although idk how true that is, it was on superhonda. How much for one of those solenoids? Becuase I might just buy teh head from the other guy and rip it apart and see if i can put it into a Z6 head. Although then i need another Z6 head too...

Do you have a automatic Y8 Manifold by any chance? 96-98

P2J-4 is 99EX 5spd. -5 is a 3 Stage VTEC head. I am just wondering about the differences between the 2 now. I had no idea it was the same cast as a Y8 head. I'm not going to ask you to disassemble it just for me lol to see what the difference is.

@JDM-JAMES: what is the code on your head?
