aside from this being a canidate for most rediculous quote for my sig, I think I know what you're trying to ask.
Almost all d deries motors are single cam (aside from the 87-89 acura integra)...and a few are equip with vtec...the 2 stage vtec you speak of was created for fuel economy, not power, and the only engine that came to the US that i know that has this is the 92-95 civic VX (also noted as e-vtec). There is no such thing as a "double head vtec." I think you're thinking of DOHC vtec which stands for "dual overhead cams". This setup utilizes two camshafts running parrallel to eachother, which is a nutshell makes the motor run much more efficiently and creates more power. Your d series motor runs on one camshaft and may or my not have vtec. In your situation, the best bang for your buck (even tho I don't know what car or motor you have now) would be sourcing a 92-95 civic EX (SOHC VTEC) head. These and cheap, and easy to work on, and TONS of aftermarket support.

No. Not compatible.

I think I understand... you're asking if you can run the rare 3-stage vtec on a DOHC D series head or, alternatively, on a B series head.

No on all counts. The 3-stage only came in a single cam. Since vtec is all about the cam profiles, you need a 3 stage cam to make it work. there's no way you can make a SOHC cam work in a DOHC engine... you'd be 1 cam short.
