Default Eagle H-Beams/CTR's

As i'm looking at my eagle rods next to my stock b16 rods I just can't get over how puny those things look. I'm in the process of rebuilding my b16, I have CTR pistons and I was gonna do stock rods, but I really plan on giving this motor hell and was wondering if CTR's would fit on Eagle Rods, if so do you still have to shave 1mm off each side of the rod to make them fit? If it helps they are Nippon Racing CTR's!

the eagles utilize a floating pin, the ctr's do not. you would need to have ring grooves machined into the piston and the pin modified. its been done before, call few local machinists to see if you can get it done local, otherwise, you would need to send them out to have them done to like exospeed. they quoted me around 80-100 to do it for me, its been a while since i have talked to them so i cant be positive.

stock rods on an NA motor are fine though. unless this is a crazy build id stick with oem rods. there is nothing wrong with them for anything under 250 in my opinion. plus eagle rods arent all tha great. they may be stronger, but they do weigh more then oem if i remember correctly, and the materials there manufactured with arent the greatest.
oem rods are also almost always identical in weight, atleast from what i have seen. where as with eagles you can get variances in weight from each rod.
nothing wrong with oem rods as long as your not making huge amounts of power

I have ctr's in my B16 and they are on stock rods. The stock rods will still need to be machined a little bit so the pistons can fit on them.

how can you just make the statement like that. your saying eagle rods are better but they arent. no one has actually had problems with them besides the rod end never seems to be "in size" tho. maybe the dude just wants to upgrade to better rods.

well if they can hold boost, they will work fine for all motor...might weight a little more but why does a type r crank weigh 4 more lbs than a gsr crank?? most people are building street cars, not full blown race cars.

Plently of setups on H-i are making upwards of 400whp with boost on STOCK rods.. I've seen people not reccomend going over 500whp with h-beams lol

Plus if you use stock rods you can still order the right color bearings for your setup and not guess with STD. size ACL's or have to worry bout some machine shop honing out the rods. I would stick with what works.. K.I.S.S.

you dont have to worry about the machine shop if you find one you can trust, which is impossible unless you hangout while your works being done..its not like running better than stock rods robs you of 20hp.
