changed headgasket and now there is no spark
So like the title says, i changed the head gasket in my friends 91 teg with the stock b18a1, and i am currently getting no spark. after cranking it for a couple seconds the cel pops up and the ecu displays a code 15 for ignition ouput signal. if you turn the key off and then turn it back to ON the code is now gone and will not return till you crank it for a few seconds. not sure if thats to be expected, or if its anything out of the ordinary. thought i'd mention it just in case.
seeing as how spark was absent i assumed that for some reason the dizzy was not receiving power. i checked the blk/yel wire on the 2 pin connector and it does show battery voltage with the key in the ON position.
at this point i'm basically stumped. i cannot find anything out of the ordinary, or any reason for it not to start. from what i've found on the subject pertaining to code 15's it has 99% of the time been a distributor ignitor failure. seeing as how this dizzy worked just dandy before i changed the headgasket, it seems unlikely that it would just fail as it sat there on the ground untouched. any thoughts?

yes they are in the right order, i never removed the wires from the cap. wouldn't matter anyway even if the firing order was wrong. i would still be getting spark, and i'm not.
i did find and an igniter unit input test on alldata so i'll use that to try and determine if the igniter is bad, or if it's something else.

id look into those things: grounds and distributor (specifically the igniter) - had a friend who's distributor failed for pretty much no reason. i think that wire you spoke about is less prone to being messed up than the igniter itself failing on an obd0 ls setup. usually with that wire being on the verge of failing you would be able to start the car but it would idle like crap.
Interested I know how the no spark situation was resolved. Did you replace the igniter? I just replaced my head gasket on my 2000 Honda crv and now have no spark at the spark plug while cranking. Will have to go through some troubleshooting to see if there is voltage at the ignition coil and igniter.
