99-00 Civic rear spoiler stud snapped
Before I dropped my car off at a car detailer today, I had to loosen the 4 nuts holding the rear spoiler in place, so he could buff things easier. He wouldn't touch it, because one nut was rusted, which is another reason I wanted to remove it, to be re-sealed. Well, although it came off easily earlier this year when I bought stainless replacements, this time the stud broke. The other 3 were not rusted, and came off easily.
Is there a trick to removing a spoiler that's been on for 10 years? I tapped the studs with a hammer, but stopped before doing damage. I wanted to get this thing off to see how the broken stud could be fixed. What's the safest way to remove this thing, and what can be done about the broken stud?
Thanks for the help!
