Default valve clearance (b16a3). someone set my mind at ease

internally stock.motor has 100k. always well maintained. jet mechanic owned it before me. he was as **** as i am. chassis is del sol(95 original b16 model) cannot think of any other relevant info. read alot in the search. have not started the car since adjustment. spun the crank around a few times by hand and re-checked. car sat for at least 3 days before adjustment.

drove it lastweek and heard a noisey valve(clicking) in cyl. no. 2(exhaust).

adjusted them last night. one of the exhaust valves on cyl. no 2 was loose at .007. all others fine. adjusted to the same drag as the others.

here is the question.

all the intake were at .005. all of them. very similar drag on the feeler.

motor has never had a problem. always quiet, until last week with the exhaust valve on 2.

too tight(min. intake is .006 in the big blue honda bible for this car)? any opinions?

If it still makes noise after the valves have been adjusted check the LMAs.

not asking specs.

asking if anyone has ever run this motor, or any b series with the clearance tighter than specs. by "run", i mean without any problems( poor compression, failure, excessive wear, etc.).

clearance does not ever get tighter on its own, right? gets looser, right?

i just wonder if the previous owner(jet mechanic at the time for over 12 years mind you. he gave me the honda service manual when i bought the car) did this on purpose. he did not seem at all the type to make an error like that on every intake valve. car has run great for over 5 years. i have only put about 4k on it. car sits alot.
