ok i installed a/c on my aunts car about 2 months ago, her car didnt come with it. And now the car is starting to have idle problems. Only thing i can think of is the ecu. Is it idling funny b/c the ecu isnt used to running the car and having a/c? The only time that it idles funny is when the a/c is on and at a dead stop, but is just fine when a/c is off? help please!

 

brw, car is a 2000 dx, i have a ecu for a 98 dx that came with ac, will it work?

 

Is the car shuttering or like surging in idle? wit the ac on ??

 

Was there an idle problem immediately following the A/C install?

Was the Blk/Red wire from the compressor clutch relay and the return Blu/Red wire connected to the ECU?

 

from what i understand, the idle problem just started, and everything was hooked up

 

when car is at a dead stop, and a/c on, it is like a surging idle, it stalls out from time to time

 

Is the CEL on? Have you inspected the plugs, wires, cap, and rotor?

Things to try:

-Clean the IACV.

-Bleed the cooling system.

-Check whether the PCV valve is stuck closed.

 

no cel, has a brand new dizzy, could it be that the ecu isnt used to the a/c being on and makin the engine idle while running the a/c. Nothing is wrong while a/c is off

 

I don't think so. You could try resetting the ECU (remove 7.5A Back Up fuse under the hood for a few minutes).
