Burning oil problems....
My 1990 Honda crxvt is burning oil, quite a bit too. Blue smoke, and stinks of burned oil.
First off, my b16a1 engine span the big end shells so i courced a b16a bottom end out of an sir and put my head on it. Put it in and ever since its been burning oil and stinks. Ive dont a compression test and its came out at :
1. 200
2. 200
3. 195
4. 197
to me that seems fine ?!?!?
i just cant work out why/how it is burning oil
cany anyone shed any light ? any tips ?

Does it only burn oil while you are in vtec? The numbers seem kind of low. Is it a completely stock b16? If so, 9.5:1~11:1 compression: 210-275 psi per cylinder.
It may also be your valve seals that might be burning the oil as well.

Only in vtec yea, bottom end is standard. but ive got ITR cams/springs/retainers, 20thou head skim on the head.
i wouldnt of thought it was valve seals, as before the last bottom end blew, there was no smoke what so ever

It could be your rings. Can someone confirm that you can still have good compression if your oil rings are shot, but your compression rings are ok?
I can't think of anything else in the bottom end that would let oil into the cylinders.
