01 prelude electrical problem. Ideas?
Hi guys, I'm new to this board. I have a few hondas but I'll get to the point. minutes after starting my 01 prelude in the morning, I suddenly lost power simultaneously to the fuel pump, power windows and moonroof. There is still power to run the heater, starter, headlights and everything in the ACC circuit. When I turn the key from ACC to ON, I continue to get 4 short beeps instead of the individual long beeps. Also, the lights in the instrument panel that are supposed to light up for test purposes are not lighted up anymore (check engine, etc) when the key is turned to ON. Obviously the car cranks but does not start, and the window will not roll back up.
I was thinking the ignition electrical switch (FSM 23-56 to 23-57) might have failed but verified voltage (with a test light) on the thick 12 guage blk/yel and yellow ignition wires at the fusebox when the key is in the ON position. I'm not ruling out the ignition electrical switch just yet but I didn't expect to see voltage there if the ignition was bad.
I've checked voltage of the battery, and all the fuses in both fusebox locations, and had the main relay solder joints resoldered just in case.
Curious to see what other ideas you guys may have at this point.
