Full GSR Swap $2000 good deal?
well its not that bad for the price.. you can always rebuild it or maybe even setup a poor man type R before you even do a swap but its your call.. is it a jdm gsr or a usdm gsr? comes with receipt if any?
Not a bad deal, but I'd be a bit leary if it's already out of a car unless you plan to rebuild before running it. Maybe something's wrong with it. If not, that will be about $1000 less than one from HMotorsonline will be, though higher miles. Either way, replace the timing belt, water pump, main seals...
No and No but it has title and was recently pulled from a frame damaged teg and he has pictures of the original teg with odometer

What if one of the sensors broke when it got hit in the wreck?
If you think its worth saving $1200 for an engine that might be ok? well its your money

I just think for $1200 its worth not having to maybe deal with issues.
well I sold my 96 jdm gsr complete with ecu but without axels, motor mounts, or shiftlinkage for $2300. I bought the motor from HMO too. Had only 40k miles when I sold it. Nothing wrong with it either.. in perfect shape
Its actually in the HT marketplace

If you think saving $1200 from a CLEAN engine with 25k miles, new reman axles is worth it over a Dirty 110k mile Swap that is your call man
your money. From all you know, that swap could have bad axles, bad sensors, throws a Check engine light.
But thats the risk of saving $1200
It was the last time I ever bought cheap again. Which is why I went to HMO and paid the premium. I am glad I made the decision, Because the LS swap i got for CHEAP had so many problems, with no good warrenty.
It was a lesson learned.
If you wanna be quick, and do it, do it right the first time

Either way good luck with your choice man
GSR is the way to go
1200 is alot of money to have hanging there...
just because he says it burns noithing means noithing.
i wouldnt do it, simply because for a bit more you could have a engine has under 45k and runs great. its dirty as hell and doesnt look like he took good care of it.

I bought a legit 95 B18C1 for my 95 EJ1 for 1800. It didn't include the axles or intake, but came with ECU half shaft, transmission, longblock, all sensors, new timing belt, new water pump, and header. It had 77k on it, so 2k is a good deal IMO for a legal swap that you can drop in your car and pass CA B.A.R. and smog.
I still rebuilt it top-to-bottom with all new internals because I wanted a new engine, but if that one runs okay, you can just do basic freshening of the seals and things like timing belt and water pump, and run it until you can afford to get it built.
I'd offer the guy 1700 and see what he says. I wouldn't pay more than 2K.
