Someone help me decide....
Hi all for a long time I've been saving my pennies and pretty much scrounging up money any way i can to purchase a '98 Impreza 2.5 RS only because I've had much respect for that car ever since it came out, but I live in MN so the abundance is quite minimal for any around the twin cities and usualy have a price tag of and over $10,000. So just recently I have almost decided to go with an Integra GSR with atleast decent miles. Now is were you come in I would like someone either tell me why I should go with one car over the other...since this is an Integra board I'm pretty sure most of you are going to pursuade me towards an integra but please give me some valid reasons why thanks.
This is kinda funny because my bf has a turbo impreza 2.5rs right now, and i just got a purple/blue gsr. His car beats my car by a lot right now cuz it's turbo; however, there are a lot of things i like better about my car than his. I mean, we are both in ny, so there is a lot of snow, and of course, awd is better for that. I think the gsr looks better than the impreza to start with; however, it all depends on your taste. My bf raced my gsr (just intake as of now since i just bought it) against a friend's impreza (intake and exhaust), and my gsr is faster on the highway by a decent amount. Also, the gearing is better on the gsr, and the gsr usually has less tranny problems compared to the impreza. My bf's impreza has tranny problems, and turbos make that even worse. I think turbo on the gsr is also easier than on the impreza, if that is something you might be interested in (i know i am). And last but not least, the gsr comes with leather interior i believe (at least mine did). I think leather interior is so much classier and cleaner than cloth. Now, if you mod the interior, that's even better, but i'm comparing stock to stock. Alright, hope this helps a little.
You really can't go wrong with either car. Both are excellent cars. It all depends on you. If you can wait, a tricked out 2.5 RS is something definately different. I think the Subaru can be turboed easier cause their japanese counterparts come turboed? someone check up on this.
Hi again. I would like to correct myself in the fact that turbo gsr is easier. It is actually easy to turbo the impreza because the jap version comes turbo. The intercooler fits right in the engine bay; however, like i said before, the tranny has problems with added power. My bf has gone through a couple trannys since he's had his impreza. I know he is gonna go through another one now that it is turbo. I agree, both cars are pretty nice...but i was just offering some positives on the gsr since he bought one.
Thanks for your help blue eyes this actually really helps me make a decision I mean I don't have all the money in the world only because I'm a high school student so the only thing I would need after I get a car is to have the tranny go out on me. So yeah I probably will go with a GSR thanks for everybody's input on this situation.
