2000 Honda Accord LX Problem
So i try to get into my car to start it today but nope nothing. No power only when its jumped but whats ridiculous is when i turn it it doesnt even turn. Any idea? We jumped it and the lights went on thats the only time? Is it only the battery?
i've checked grounds everything is good. I just replaced the battery and theres power going through where the head lights work and signal work but when you turn it just clicks once .... is there a guide to taking off the alternator....heh its been awhile since i've worked on cars..also does auto zone do alternator testing?
On stone-dead batteries, doing the Positive-Positive / negative-Negative cable trick often doesn't work.
I use this:
Positive (Jump(er) to Positive (Jump(ee)
Negative (Jump(er) to any Engine Ground (Jump(ee)
Why?
The first proceedure is great (and recommended) for recharging the battery, but it S**ks for trying to restart a dead car. I've found that until the dead battery is sufficiently recharged, it actually detracts from the cranking ability.
The second proceedure bypasses the dead battery and temporarily uses the donor car car's electrical system to excite the starter. Because you're going directly to the starter (via + battery cable and the engine ground), you're not wasting that electrical energy charging the battery.
Again:
positive(donor) to positive(recipiant) @ the battery.
negative(donor) to any ground mounted on the engine (steel bracket, etc)

yeah we just put a new battery in and it still wont start
When you "jump" it, I would ask you how you jumped it.

well it wasnt the starter......it was an electrical problem i had some guy come over to look at it. He took out the alarm fuse and said the alarm caused a current reduction to the starter. Now my car sounds like its signals on when i opened the door both headlights and taillights flash he said its the alarm system i have to fix it. and now everytime i drive the "signal noise" comes on and the SRS light is on........the guy told me i just have to fix the alarm....its
