ls swap into 88std hatch, running rich, backfiring, sputtering HELP!
well i did the mpfi conv. with a monotech harness and used my ls ecu and some other stuff from my crx that had an ls. everything was running pretty good except it took a while to start and ran really rich. today my map code came on so i put the one from my crx on there and no more code. now its just sputtering and running rich and backfiring flames like crazy even at idle. what should i check? im not getting any codes. oh, im also running a walbro 255 pump and a b&m fpr, which i havnt touched since i took it off the crx.if it would make a dif.
Run the stock FPR and make sure that isn't what is causing your issue. Also which ECU are you running? I am assuming the PR4?
yeah its a stock ls pr4. i checked the firing order and it was right how i had it, thats one of the first things i thought of. i was going to put my stock fpr on tomorrow and see what happens. and also my other iacv becuase its idling like its sticking or messed up. dont know where its idling, i dont have any gauges or anything hooked up, except a water temp so i dont let it over heat messing with it haha. sounds like about 1.5 to 2k, then when i plug the hole in the tb for the iacv it seems to calm down and idle normally but still backfires. im thinking about just hooking up my wideband and seeing what my ar is, sincei have no clue what my fpr is adjusted to...
well i cleaned and checked my iacv after putting my other one on that ended up being bad. put it back on, cranked it up w/ it unplugged and ran like it had been, then i plugged up the iacv and started idling high, id say about 2.5 or 3k then went back down and ran like complete **** and bogs when i hit the throttle. anybody know how to correctly adjust the iacv? would the fitv have anything to do with it, i forgot to bypass it when i hooked everything up and hooked it back up, its prob bad, i had it bypassed for like 2 years.
oh and i cant find my stock fpr, tried to get my friend w/ a b16 4dr ef to come over and let me steal his but he didnt show, sooo...tomorrow is another day. but ill be trying to finish my downpipe and wastegate piping so. i just want this thing to run right.
IACV doesn't really need calibrated, you just clean out the little screen. The FITV valve is if you have surging idle etc.
Are you using bigger injectors? As you said something about making the downpipe and wastegate? If so what size?
