so i was diving down vermont and i hit a small bump that was on the street and after that some weired loud rattle noise started it sounds like ur shaking a bag of alluminum it comes and goes away and it seems to be coming from under the car like where the cat is near the transmission car runs fine shifts good no motor noises what can it be plz help im worried???

 

i mean it sounds like a bag of soda cans shaking

 

Could b a Loose Exhaust/heat shield by Shift linkage..

No i dont think so..Other then the annoyance.

If it is the Shield, prolly just vibrated itself loose..

 

does anybody know if the cat makes rattling sounds inside when they are bad?cuz it sounds like inside the exhaust something rattling i went to check it again?

 

There is also a shield that goes around the cat

I had this happen to me the previous owner of my car had the smart idea to weld a pipe from the header to the stock muffler and they did a crappy job and when I hit a pothole the welding broke off and the two parts would clank against each other. The car sounded extremely loud aswell, so thats a tale sign for en exhaust leak. I would jack it up and check it out.
