Help please! Lock cylinder is jammed...
Door handle has never been the same since it left the body shop (working fine before.) Basically, the outer handle rod keeps slipping out after lifting the outside handle a few times. Everything's fine and it's a brand new handle, only thing I can think of is the guy at the shop forced the lock cylinder in, and it's staying in a tight bind, therefore making the rod slip out.
So now I'm trying to get it out to fix it but like I said the cylinder lock is stuck to where it can't be removed from the door handle. And it's quite embarrassing not being able to get in my car from the driver's side!
Anyone have any ideas on how to get it out?
Car is a 2000 EK hatch.

if your just trying to get the lock cylinder out then id suggest getting a long flathead, put it up against the retainer clip and twist to get it out. Thats the way ive done it before. But i believe you can also remove the plastic clip connected to the cylinder and remove it all with the handle which is only held on by two 10 mm bolts. But reading your post again i think that there may just be some plastic piece broken. Either way id try taking off the handle and looking over all the rods and clips and meaking sure that there is nothing broken.
Nothing is broken or missing and I've already removed the retaining clip and removed/disconnected everything else already, it should just come out...but it's like it is just stuck in the handle for some reason.
It was fine before it went to the body shop, but after I got it back, it was never right again. I let the owner put it in and he forced it in, so I think by him forcing the key cylinder in, it put it in a bind...and ultimately that's what I think is popping the rod out. But I just don't want for force it out and break the damn handle, or anything else for that matter. It's a brand new outer handle and it's (and the rest of the car) just been freshly painted.
