So I got the whole synchro on 3rd change. How long should I wait before shifting hard and going to red line? And how fast should my shift be? Anyone have Vids ???

 

I recommend banging the gear immediately to make sure they put everything back together correctly

Did they replace the 3rd gear as well? If so, just use it; all it does is bite against the gear cone surface. If the gear is new, it means it has a fresher surface for the new synchro to bit against (very similar to clutch discs and a newly resurfaced flywheel). Synchros wear just like brake pads and clutches. You use it, you lose it. lol If you want them to last, don't shift fast or take the rpm high. Simple as that.

 

afaik, there's no break-in period for new synchros. i'd say it's safe to drive as you normally would right from the start.
