tough choice...
Id prob go with a B20 block since you want to keep it fairly stock...I think youd like the extra TQ for daily driving..
You can always add a vtec head later on...

Stock B20 sleeves do not like nitrous or boost or RPM.

I would say the gsr its a good motor stock too.(vtec head)

A B20 is a good motor too and you can get it cheap and torque is really nice for daily driving.

why not go H2B?

it will be WAY faster than either of the two you listed, even w/o any bolt-ons haha

plus tons of tq for daily driving

A B series is more plug-and-play. For someone that can't even decide on which motor to go with, it seems a B series would be the better choice. Not to mention header issues, block grinding, timing cover clearance (don't know bout EG fitment?), alternator brackets, etc. I'm not knocking the H though.

BTW, the GSR gets my vote.

i say go with the b18c1, it will respond better if you just use simple bolt ons... and you cant go wrong with Vt3c y0!

It sounds like he is trying to keep things pretty simple and a B swap is easier/more straightforward.
